The Duck Pond, 27 April 2017

Some of what has happened in “the duck pond” this week:

Goat Island Skiff

Justin’s Goat Island Skiff is also coming together.

Today I finished the centerboard case and installed it. Also made templates of the front and rear seats, but it was quiet hours by then so I’ll cut them out in the morning. Justin

La Paz Mullet Skiff Completed in Canada

Just got this email and photo of a Laq Paz Mullet Skiff.

Jeff,
You may remember that I am building a boat using your mullet skiff hull design – with a cabin. Here’s a recent photo taken from the roof of our house! I floated the hull last year and it was fine – and very stable. I’m planning to launch it in May/June of this year.

Thames 17

I posted a couple of weeks ago with photos of Kevin Murray’s Selway Fisher Thames 17 rowing skiff finished. Here are photos just received of her in the waters of Miami where she performs well with a single rower, double and double with passenger.

From Uncle Paul’s Boat Shop

My Skerry build. Without a doubt the most difficult part of the build so far has been the skeg. Making the skeg to hull curve match wasn’t easy. But it’s done.
