About Me
I read in past letters to Chuck that his boat plan index was out of date. I contacted Chuck telling him I was looking at creating a boat plan index of my own. Chuck told me he was looking for someone to help him with his index. Chuck took one step backwards from the index and left me standing there with my hand up.
My name is Mike. I'm from Northern NSW, Australia - Clarence
River Country. I'm on the duckworks forum as Mike John (mikeboatman).
I started this project to give my days living with a disability
some focus. I'm a librarian by training, but I am passionate about
boatbuilding and I started amateur boatbuilding in 2001. I wanted
to build a model boat. I have yet to build a model boat, but I
got hooked on full size boats. I have completed, with varying
degrees of success, a Woods Pixie 14, a Bolger Junebug, a Bolger
Queen Mab, a sailing kayak, a center pod catamaran (my designs)
and a Dierking Wappa 16 Outrigger Canoe.
I've now devoted my time to working on this index. I have taken
every care in fixing and extending the index, but if you find
an error please let me know. If both designers and amateur
boatbuilders find the index useful and you could see your way
to make a donation, it would be very much appreciated so I can
keep the index going.
