C-4

C-4 canoes are not cruisers; they are used for flat-water racing, in a straight line, on a measured courses.  The original C-4 was built by Walter Dean in the early 1900's and is owned by the Mississauga Canoe Club.   This revised model was designed for the Mississauga Club, based on the lines of the Walter Dean original.  Ted has since modified the shape, taking out all rocker and filling out the stern a little above the waterline to increase reserve buoyancy when the boat is paddled fast.
