The English 20
| According to Gilbert Gordon, William English
"built just about the best canoe in Peterborough." Although not as will
known as the Peterborough and Lakefield Canoe Companies, English was a respected builder.
His original mould for this design for regattas, the #20 is a vee-bottom racing
canoe that compromised capacity for speed. |

| According to Walter Walker, who
continues to build the English #20 in the original cedarstrip technique, "It is not
just a pleasure canoe for the average man, but anybody who is a good paddler likes
it." |
